Washout pictures

I am not a huge fan of most washed out pictures but I liked this one. We had a nice breeze keeping us from being too hot and a bright sun shinny day. The trees were flowering but all the flowers were high in the trees which themselves were up in tall planters. I was shooting with a Sigma EX 30mm F/1.4 so I could drop the background out of focus. Backgrounds that aren't in focus are much easier to photoshop. I then had the bride stand on another planter in the foreground. I went down on my knees to get the angle I wanted. I had my wife along to help and she used a reflector to put extra light in her face. Afterwards I pulled the bride out of the picture to add more flowers and boost their color. I put her back in the picture and made her dark hair a bit darker to make sure that the eye is drawn to her face. The finale touch was to cover over the concrete blocks in the background with grass. The end result looks like a beautiful bride enjoying her wedding day.
